Kendo. Αποκλειστική συνέντευξη του δάσκαλου Koda με αφορφή τα 20 χρόνια του Budo Center

Ίσως να μην έχουμε καταλάβει όλοι μας πόσο σημαντικό είναι το γεγονός ότι ο δάσκαλος Koda έχει έρθει μέχρι στιγμής δύο φορές στην Ελλάδα. Ίσως να μην έχουμε καταλάβει το μέγεθος της αξίας του παγκοσμίως, θα πω μόνο σαν παράδειγμα μερικά από τα λόγια του:  «Εκεί που μένω έχω δίπλα μου πολλά σχολεία που ζητούν να παραβρεθώ και να τους διδάξω αλλά δεν πάω, πανεπιστήμια και  φορείς με προσκαλούν για διδασκαλία και ομιλίες και επίσης δεν πάω, στην Ελλάδα και ειδικά για το Budo, βρήκα χρόνο να έρθω!»

Ο Κύριος Koda είναι διευθυντής του τμήματος Kendo στο πανεπιστήμιο του Tsukuba. Κατέχει τον βαθμό του 8ου Dan kyoshi και έχει αναδειχθεί παγκόσμιος πρωταθλητής στο ατομικό ανδρών στο 6^ο παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα kendo το 1985 στο Παρίσι.

Επίσης έχει εκδώσει στην ιαπωνική γλώσσα τουλάχιστον τρία βιβλία για το Kendo που χρίζουν μεγάλης απήχησης στην Ιαπωνία.

Σαν καθηγητής του πανεπιστημίου με ειδικότητα στο kendo έχει το παρακάτω επίπεδο γνώσεων.

With great pleasure we will present you the curriculum vitae of teacher Koda sensei. With his continuous help, BUDO CENTER has become the first Kendo club in Greece in a small period of time.

 

Here follows the interview:

 

1) Budo: Where and when you were born?

Koda sensei:　 Nagasaki,Japan. １９５７、８，２８．

 

2) Budo: How old did you start Kendo?

Koda sensei: 　９years　old

 

3) Budo: How was Kendo these years where you started?

Koda sensei: I started kendo on my father`s advice in his Kendoujou.

 

4) Budo: Is Kendo useful for young children?

Koda sensei: It is very useful.

 

5) Budo: What kind of advice would you give to young children who want to start kendo?

Koda sensei: First of all, I would say that you must have strong kiai and spirit.  Next, paying attention to and practicding kihon, or basics, is very important.   Finally, be persistent, and try not to take a break from practice.

 

6) Budo: World champion in Paris. How wonderful, but at the same time how difficult was that?

Koda sensei:  The biggest difficulty I had was the pressure I felt to perform as a representative of Japan.

 

7) Budo: Tell us a few words for TSUKUBA University and your job there. Koda sensei: At Tsukuba University, I am responsible for teaching undergraduate, master, and doctorate programs.  I am also responsible for coaching the kendo team.

 

8) Budo: It is well known that Tsukuba has many successes in Kendo. Which one can you recollect more?

Koda sensei: I always look back fondly on the time when the Tsukuba University Team won the College Championships two years in a row.

 

9) Budo: You have visited Greece two times, tell us your impressions from these travels.

Koda sensei: Regarding the level of kendo, Greece does not have a long history of kendo in its country.  However, I was very impressed with their kihon, or basics, as well as their overall skill.  In terms of the country itself, I really liked the fact that the weather was dry.

 

10) Budo: What is your opinion regarding the level of Kendo athletes in Greece?

Koda sensei: Again, despite the young history of kendo in the country, the level of kendo is very high.  With more time and practice, I believe they can be one of the best in Europe.

 

11) Budo: We would like to have your advice for the development of Kendo in Greece.

Koda sensei: First of all, I think everyone in Greece’s kendo community needs to come together and join forces to develop kendo.  Secondly, an effort should be made to develop more tournaments and matches within Greece.  If all the kendo athletes across Greece can continue to push each other, their kendo will grow as well.

 

12) Budo: Tell us your plans for the future.

 Koda sensei: I hope I can play my part to improve the level of kendo in Japan, as well as the rest of the world.
